How the BCS works

The BCS rankings are made up of 8 different rankings - USAToday coaches poll, Harris Interactive poll and six computer polls Anderson & Hester, Richard Billingsley, Colley Matrix, Kenneth Massey, Jeff Sagarin, Peter Wolfe.

USAToday and Harris each get 1/3 weight in the rankings while the other 6 share 1/3. Each poll has its own method and Rivals.com does a great job explaining the hows and whys [Rivals BCS rankings].

After looking at each of these lists and reading about what goes into each poll, it almost sucks every bit of enjoyment out of college football.

Here are the top five rankings in each poll along with Iowa, Iowa State and UNI rankings.
