Mouth of the Midwest/The Talk is Hawks…alone as Clone!
WOI TV 5 Impresario Ray Cole is spending way too much time trying to slot the Iowa St./Oklahoma St. game opposite Iowa-Illinois on Saturday. Mediacom outlets have agreed to take it; die-hard fans wanting to see the game will find it. Cole is a very savvy operator; hence he has alot of profile sitting on big ABC/ESPN boards within parent Cos. Disney.
Iowa State has played itself out of the mainstream mindset. They are not pertinent right now and, sadly, they have regressed this year. The University of Iowa is back and posied for big noise in my view. They will thump illinois Saturday and Penn State will be fully-extended to beat them. Their remaining four games are appointment television events!
That being said, ISU will get there. I believe Jamie Pollard and his vision; he made of the right stuff. Gene Chizik was a solid hire and that truth will be borne out. Chizik paid dearly for his pandering and indecision on the two-QB system; he found out what others have long known–they don’t work!
Bates’ defection hurt this team and more from a morale standpoint as opposed to his physical/athletic attributes. Chizik understands this and if he doesn’t …then the regression is even more pronounced.
