Miss a day you miss a lot…
Triple Threat was great today. Good chemistry. Great knowledge from both John and Tommy. Both have different strong areas which compliment each other well and of course you bring it all together. I’m not kissing your ass here but that was just outstanding. You continue to have those same types of discussions/debates, I absolutely love back and forth debate, your new show will absolutely dominate.
Currently Cubs are getting pounded early, 5-0 after 1 2/3. I believe I heard Len say the best the Cubs have done is 1 and 2 since the new park at Philly. Cubs need to make hay.
A few interesting thoughts I had for topics of discussion, take it for what it is and discard the laughable. What about the Lions signing Mike Vick as insurance for Stafford? I realize Goodell still might suspend him but it kinda makes sense. The team didn’t win at all last year. Stafford needs to earn that huge contract with all that guaranteed money but lets face it, this team is not going to contend with a rookie QB. I know, look at Flaco last year, but the Lions don’t have that Raven defense. Sign Vick for the league minimum and see if he can make plays with his athleticism. Maybe somewhat of a platoon type of a deal. Another topic might be Iowa’s BB recruiting class that Lick managed to put together after all the defections earlier. I realize this is somewhat biased but I know I would love it. The addition of Zach McCabe to that class really is the crown jewel. Cody Larson, Ben Brust, Roy Marble Jr., and Zach McCabe is 10x the class I thought it would be. One more topic that would probably include both fan bases would be ISU grouping Iowa game tickets with two other teams and making it a mini group ticket purchase. Sorry, I can’t recall the other two teams right now. Seems to me that its more funny math by Pollard but yet give the man his due, he isn’t dumb. Anyways, I’m starting to ramble, like I said dismiss the laughable.
Great show. Don’t worry Marty, you’re heading for better things. I subscribe to Hawkeye Report and last week I posted about your current web show and your upcoming launch on 1700 on the 27th. I mention this not for thanks but to only relay to you the responses. You definitely have a polarizing effect on people. There weren’t any “Who is this guy?” or I still don’t have an opinion on Marty yet.” They were either yays or nays. If I were you, I would absolutely adore this. The guys that spewed the most venom, were clearly guys that had listened on several occasions. My advice to you is simply embrace it. You clearly have a talent for this and I for one will continue to listen.
