Cubs sale – Not so fast my friend….
Thought the sale of the Cubs was a done deal? As Lee Corso says, “Not so fast my friend”.
There is still no deal in place between Sam Zell the owner of the Chicago Tribune and Cubs and the Rickett family. Zell is quoted in the Chicago Tribune today that the sale is not a done deal.
“We’ve made it very public that the Cubs don’t fit into the long-term picture of the Tribune,” he said in an interview with Bloomberg Television. “So if the Ricketts deal doesn’t get done, I’m sure there will be other ones.”
The deal was thought to have been close by then end of May.
