Buzzer beating in the NHL Playoffs -

After a three-goal lead disappeared in the third period, Denis Seidenberg fired a shot that was deflected by Jussi Jokinen and crossed the goal line with 00.2 seconds left, giving the Canes a 4-3 win over the Devils Tuesday and tying the series at 2-2. Clemmensen would have stopped it.

NHL Playoff hockey is fun to watch. If yo don’t watch any other time of the year, make a point to catch the playoffs.

Baseball

Cubs win, and the season of giving continues. They didn’t need it but the Cubs received another gift after Mike Lincoln walked Geovany Soto with the bases loaded. Early this year the Brewers helped the Cubs walking in 4 runs. So is everyone tired of the Cubs drought and trying to help them out?

Cards beat the Mets 6-4. Carpenter update – His oblique is better, but he is no where near coming back yet.

“There’s no question it’s better,” Carpenter said. “From when it first happened, I couldn’t even get out of bed. Now at least I can get out of bed and move around a little bit — those type of things. There’s no question it’s gotten better. But you cannot do anything until it’s totally all gone. And it’s not gone.”

KC’s comeback fell short as Cleveland slipped past 8-7. The Royals scored 4 in the 8th and David DeJesus jacked a 2-run homer in the 9th, but it wasn’t enough.

Also, Nats win again, break them up. Hanrahan picked up his 2nd save.
