Does ISU need a road therapist?

What is the deal with ISU football and basketball and Big 12 road games?

ISU dropped yet another Big 12 road game, their 11th straight, at Colorado Tuesday night 55-49.

Colorado by any stretch of the imagination is not a great Big 12 team. This was their first Big 12 win this season and their first since beating ISU last season. The venue, the Coors Event Center, is hardly a hostile environment, only 3,004 bellied their way through the turnstiles.

So what is the deal with ISU and Big 12 road games?

Since the 2005 season the football team has a 1-15 record in Big 12 road games and the basketball team has compiled a 4-23 record over that same time.

Are ISU team’s not mentally tough enough to win on the road? Are they outmatched?

ISU certainly has the personnel to beat Colorado, so what is the deal?

Since 2005 the football and basketball programs haven’t been talented or experienced enough to hang with the even the medicore programs of the Big 12.

All this falls in Pollard’s lap as his two big hires (Chizik & McDermitt) have lead those programs from medicore back to the laughing stock of the Big 12.

McDermott’s in way over his head. He couldn’t motivate a group of Japanese businessmen in a brothel. This team needs a personality and he ain’t got it. The only thing that can save his ass now, is if he can land Barnes and we all know what the chances of that are. Landing the second best player on the Ames team ain’t gonna cut it.

I would not put too much into the Big 12 road theory. Both UNI and Houston would throttle Colorado, and ISU got them on the road! ISU just plain sucked last night, and is struggling ALOT right now.

The road woes are not about ISU – they are about coaching and talent. The football end hasn’t had good coaching, and the basketball end has Missouri Valley talent on a Big 12 team. Maybe this is why Connor Boffelli switched to Iowa, so his parents could enjoy the road trips.

Face it ISU fans – your two big programs are struggling. Instead of complaining about drunk Iowa fans, hold your administration accountable.

Wow, never thought about it that way, as long as we are winning it doesn’t matter who follows the law or has morals. Winning solves everything even if you tend to have classless dipshits running around on the pedestrian mall every weekend.(Or taking the act out of town in January.)

Touche’ Peter….might you remember the names Taylor or Berryman. The fact is all schools have a few bad eggs that are more concerned with themselves than their program. UNI even has a few, Johnny Gray, etc. They’re 20 year old kids, kids f**k up occasionally. They were welcomed to their respective schools for their athletic ability not their decision making skills. Get over yourself and recognize that the L column is much heavier than the W column on the road. Period. Facts are facts.

Peter – instead of reading the details of my post, you whine and complain like most ‘clone fans. For every bad Hawkeye egg, there’s 20 good ones. Despite the recent drama, Iowa has ran a clean ship and won, especially in football. Iowa State has ran clean ship – and lately that’s it. The reason ISU constantly loses is not the University of Iowa. Until ‘Clone nation realizes that, they’ll keep losing to CU in basketball and Baylor in football.
