Mike Jarvis set a record

Florida Atlantic basketball rarely gets mentioned on 62andeven, but if games are always this entertaining we might have to start.

The Owl’s lost last night 94-88, in part due to Louisiana-Monroe’s Afam Nweke making 7-8 technical foul shots. Yes, 7 of 8 technical foul shots.

It seems former St. John’s coach Mike Jarvis took exception to an out of bounds call with 2:01 left in the first half. Jarvis did not agree with the call and began to voice his opinion and was called for a technical.

” The official who called the first technical was standing close to Jarvis, who took exception by waiving his arms.

The officials huddled and Jarvis continued to protest when Crawford called three more technicals. Jarvis mocked Crawford’s calls before the fourth was whistled. When Jarvis took his time leaving the court, Crawford asked a campus police officer to escort the coach off the floor. Jarvis raised his arms and left peacefully. It was his second ejection this season.

“What I saw was four technical fouls and a swing of 10 points, which I’ve never seen before,” FAU Athletic Director Craigngelos said.

Here is Jarvis being escorted from the game.
