ISU Watch/Deal in place; Pollard honors protocol
You can say anything you want about ISU AD Jamie Pollard, but he understands the human condition. He knew there would be a tremendous ground swell as he set out Tuesday to find a new head football coach; he knew when he missed on Buffalo’s Turner Gill Cyclone Nation’s mood would go further dour and the natives would be restless. It was to be expected.
However, to his credit, Pollard shook off a brutal week of negativity and forged ahead. The short list he was working off was very public and sources tell us he quickly debunked the notion he could go the ‘hot assistant’ route again. Chizik got him good.
That being said, after dogged pursuit, he apparently has his guy. He got him Thursday and now Jamie Pollard, after the Chizik Cause Celebre, has to honor protocol and move with class; no doubt he has/will.
The new Cyclone coach is obviously an active coach on a bowl team if our information is solid.
I must admit, like you posters, I’m tired and ready for the introduction so we can all think about spring football and put Mean Gene in the rear view mirror once-and-for-all.
Have something to say leave a comment.
