Tradition heavy New Mexico falls to Drake
You might remember when Steve Alford bolted for Albuquerque he cited the rich basketball tradition of the Lobos and how it would be better to go to a place that was committed to the program.
Perhaps Steve should continued to pick up Dr. Tom’s leftovers and moved down I-80 to coach Drake.
The Bulldogs opened up a 16 point second half lead and held on to beat the Alford’s Lobos 68-62 in the 2nd floor ballroom in Cancun Sunday night.
New Mexico now stands 3-4.
