Anyone else here this mindless prattle from Fox Sports Radio
in discussing NFL Coach of the Year honors?
Look, if the Pats win Saturday night–Its Belichick. I’ll listen to an argument from Mike McCarthy in Green Bay, but Del Rio and Fisher did respectable jobs in Jax and Tennessee–not Coach of the Year work—not this year anyhow.
Can I take back all those plaudits I showered on the Vikings. Tavaris Jackson looks overmatched. Nice if the get in, but I don’t think he is ready for the playoff stage. Shut down Adrian Peterson and you beat Minnesota.
I think Green Bay can beat Dallas in Dallas. Notice I said can–not saying they will. Here’s what needs to happen and its all about Tony Romo. I’m still not sold on this guy inasmuch as I was never sold on Kurt Warner. Romo now has all glitter and the trappings of a matinee idol. He is Michelle Wie–he has won nothing! Come talk to me after he beats Favre and Packers in NFC title tilt on 1/20!!

First off, I wasn’t even aware there was a New Mexico Bowl until a few minutes ago.
Second, I believe the State of New Mexico got the bowl game as a package deal. (take Steve Alford, get a bowl game).
Third, I believe that bowl officials from the New Mexico Bowl have sent apologies to the University of Iowa for not selecting them to this years big game.
The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that Nevada, one of the participants, had sold only 95 of its 6,000 allotted tickets at the beginning of the week.
95? Total?
Heck, some Iowa families bring 95 family members to bowl games.
Anyways, be a part of the few, the proud the people that actually see the 2007 New Mexico Bowl, coming to you live Saturday on ESPN.

First up: Bulls/Celtics works for me tonight. Bulls call up JamesOn Curry from Iowa Energy and he has yet to dress.
Don’t think he even made trip to Beantown. Hmm.
College coaching defections yet another factor in the deteriorating bowl system. A playoff system ala D-1 sub-division would help keep coaches in place until atleast after the playoffs. An “And-1″ game is coming followed by a full-blown playoff…sometime in our lifetime.
News Flash: Andy Garman bags #1 sports slot at KCCI; John Meyer elevated to weekend anchor. Both are very deserving.
Andy Fales to start at WHO TV mid-January. Who is the oddman out?
Methinks Johnson County DA’s office might just pass on filing formal sex charges against the Hawkeye3Stooges. Just a gut guess.
Josh Young might just be the RealDeal…ah, I’d like to see a couple of MVC games before annoiting him the next Wayne Kreklow.
The “Rockettes” visted sick kids at a Des Moines hospital. They didn’t issue a photo-op press release to let everyone know.
The Picks:
Green Bay - 8 1/2 they smell #1 seed.
Detroit - 4 1/2 6-2 to 6-10….can that really happen?
Buffalo + 2 1/2 The Giants miss the playoffs. It will happen! And Tom Coughlin will be fired.
Minnesota - 6 1/2 Vikings are playoff-bound. Adrian Peterson runs for 250-plus.
Tube Talk:
Friday: Bulls/Cetics ESPN 6pm
Saturday: Georgetown/Memphis ESPN 11am
Sunday: Washington/Minnesota NBC/WHO TV 13 7:15 pm
Note: Sorry real college bowls don’t begin until after Christmas.

After days of sitting back in his well worn, over sized Lazy-Boy trying to figure out which stack of money was the highest (ATL or MIA), it appears Miami’s stack was higher.
ESPN is reporting Parcells will be the Dolphins new executive vice president of football operations.

Hawkeyes may have beaten the Fightin’ Illini on the field, yet its Illinois headed to the Rose Bowl. Now they’ve been ‘Zooked’ out of RB Jason Ford who will sign with the Illini’ on February 6th. Bad year just got worse for Coach Ferentz.
Oh, and by the way, Michigan gets QB Terrelle Pryor from Jeannette, Pa. who was headed to W. Virginia or Ohio State.
You get the feeling the Hawks are going way down before they go back up.
